SOHO MOVEMENT
SOHO movement has the ideology of total transformation – worldly and religiously. SOHO is known for its revolutionary contribution to total reformation of human consciousness, with an approach to see life in its unity without dividing it into two parts – worldly and religiously.
The movement emphasised that there are no real issues as political, social, economic or psychological – but the root of all problems lies in the crisis of consciousness. The movement is rooted in the affirmation of self- sustained life based on science and spirituality rather than beliefs and organised religions. To this end, societies would be founded at every panchayat / ward level and group of members would share its ideology among the people. Societies would run their own businesses through community service centres and business associates.
MEANING OF SOHO
So-Ho has no dictionary meaning, no meaning should be adhered too. The word SOHO is made up of two syllables, ‘SO’ & ‘HO’. ‘SO’ is the sound of inhalation contemplating life coming in along with inhalation. AND ‘HO’ is the sound of exhalation contemplating life going out along with exhalation. SOHO exists in sentient being as the constant energy that drives every thoughts or actions (voluntary or involuntary) at every level of body and mind.
It’s a simple way of living breathing in and breathing out. The breathing – in is ‘SO’ and the breathing out is ‘HO’. Our whole life consists of breathing in and breathing out.
Thus, SOHO is to be understood as – I am the living existence; sentient being.
